Registered Dental Assistant Examination

The Michigan RDA examination consists of both a clinical and a written portion. Please see the RDA Exam Brochure on this website for more information.

To take this examination and become registered in Michigan, an applicant must apply online to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Professional Licensing by visiting www.michigan.gov/miplus.

To be eligible for the examination, the application, fee and required documentation must be submitted to the Bureau of Professional Licensing by the deadline date listed below.

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited Registered Dental Assistant program that has been approved by the Board.

The Bureau of Professional licensing will mail out an admission letter with complete information concerning the exam approximately 10 to 14 days before the exam. The applicant will receive information on the location and time of the exam along with a map and any additional information needed.

Results are reported approximately six to eight weeks following the examination date.
